[en] Description

The new museum of the National Bank of Belgium has opened its doors in a magnificent 19th century bank building. Come and explore the new permanent exhibition of the NBB museum in a sumptuous setting. You will have the opportunity to discover three different circuits.
The first circuit gives you an idea of the main functions of a central bank, all within a very interactive scenography. With your audio guide you can learn a little more about the issuance of coins and bank notes by the National Bank, test your knowledge of the Euro system or try to keep the inflation stable.
The second circuit shows you an evolution of our means of payment. It is here that you will find the biggest part of our historical collection: commodity money, old means of exchange, coins and notes. These objects come together in a chronological fresco that will make the visitor travel in time and around the world.
The last circuit includes a series of objects are about the theme of money. It shows how much it is present in our daily lives.

The museum is located at Warmoesberg 57, a 10 minute walk from Brussels Central Station. The museum is open from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the entrance is free.

We offer guided tour for groups with a minimum of 10 people. These guided tours are also free and last about one hour. Reservations can be made through our website: https://www.nbbmuseum.be/en/booking.
