Collections

What's on at CINEMATEK: contemporary & classic cinema; fiction & documentary; cycles, retrospectives & series which focus on films of all eras. Everyone is welcome; the occasional visitor as well as the passionate film fan. Films are shown in two well-equipped screening rooms, in their original format and version, normally subtitled in French and Dutch. Silent films are always accompanied by live piano.

The well-designed exhibition room displays interactive mechanisms in the 'Wunderkammer', remixes cinema fragments on 8 displays, and has four 'film banks', on which visitors can consult rare archive footage.

Bâtiment

Extraordinary architecture
We are located in the Centre for fine Arts, built in 1920 by Victor Horta, the greatest exponent of Art Déco style. For the CINEMATEK, the architects Robbrecht and Daem have developed an ultra-contemporary scenery.

Jeunes Fans de Ciné
The CINEMATEK makes a specific planning for kids, the 'JEUNES FANS DE CINÉ'. The activities take place in three different movie theaters: The Herny Le Boeuf Room (BOZAR), the Studio 5 (Flagey) and the Ledoux Theater (CINEMATEK)

All the information is available on: www.cinematek.be

You can also visit the Royal Film Archive's library.
The library has an enormous collection of reference books, specialized publications, press articles, photos and film posters.

Consultation only allowed in the building.
